Servia to Join Brix and Jourdain in Kodak
Car In Rolex Series Race At Miller Motorsports Park Sept. 2
SONOMA, Calif., (August
27, 2006) -- Oriol Servia, who finished second in the Champ
Car World Series last year, will join Harrison Brix and Michel Jourdain
Jr. in the Feeds the Need/Doran Racing DORAN JE4 Ford No. 77 for the
Discount Tire Sunchaser Rolex Series race next Saturday, Sept. 2 at
Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, team owner Kevin Doran announced
today.
The nine-hour event on the 4.5-mile road course will begin at noon local
time on Saturday, Sept. 2. It will be broadcast live on SPEED in two
segments starting at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Eastern time. The Lebanon, Ohio-based
team's car carries the colors of the Kodak EasyShare System, Amp'd Mobile
and SIRIUS.
Servia drives PKV Racing's Gulfstream Lola Ford-Cosworth in the Champ
Car World Series. The 32-year-old native of Pals, Catalonia, Spain who
currently lives in Miami is tenth in that series' point standings, just
nine points out of fourth place.
Saturday's race is the first Rolex Series race at Miller Motorsports
Park. It will also be the first race there for all three drivers.
Brix, of San Jose, Calif., has driven the Kodak car all season long.
Jourdain, of Mexico City, Mexico, drove it at the Rolex 24 at Daytona
Beach, Fla. and at a race at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. yesterday.
Servia is making his first start in the car and in the series at Miller
Motorsports Park.
After a promoter test day on Wednesday, practice for the Daytona Prototype
class starts at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, with qualifying at 2 p.m. on
Friday.
